The borders to Australia are opening soon! Are you ready to travel to Australia?

Like the government hinted, Australia border opening plans are moving ahead as scheduled. The Australian Government has endorsed an International Student Arrival Plans for NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria to make sure international students and travelers can travel to Australia without any hindrance . The remaining states are expected to open their door to international traveler by February 2022.

We advise all international students to get in touch with their respective universities and check for any changes or extra information about returning to studies.

During the pandemic lockdown, international travelers were asked to register with DFAT for travel exemption procedure. But since the Australian government has announced the border opening schedule, DFAT registration is no longer necessary. However you need the following in order before you make travel arrangements:

  • You need to be fully vaccinated. The vaccines accepted in Australia are- Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Janssen, Coronavac, Covidshield, Sinopharm China and Covaxin
  • Your passport and visa should be valid and any changes to be updated with the visa such as new passport number
  • Approved International Student Arrival Plan must expect to stay in Australia for an extended period
  • Western Australia will require a G2G Pass

In the G2G Registration, you can complete the online registration form, download the G2G Pass app from the App Store, and once your registration has been processed, you will receive a QR code via the app or email. You must present this when entering WA.

Further, there are several things that need to be addressed before you depart for Australia and after you arrive there. Find out more here.
